Conclusion:

I love this box. It has provided me with countless hours of exploration, and has inspired me in numerous ways by forcing me to think outside the box. It is possible to dial in ‘regular’ sounds, and while they can be great, I don’t think they (or any simple sound sample) capture the beauty of the pedal. There are a lot of different fuzzes, whirs, and chirps available, but getting back to them can prove to be a bit daunting as the box responds a little different to each device I attach to it.

The free floating circuit is a little bit of a concern to me, but I doubt it will ever break down mechanically.

A gifted noise musician is going to find ways to manipulate this pedal that will make rainbows and dead unicorns shoot out of it, but for me it’s always going to be like an 8 second bull ride, dangerous and out of control. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

As always, if you have any questions, leave a comment or let me know

Note: A rating of 5 = average and should considered a ‘good’ basic score

  1. This is just a general question I was wondering if there was a pedal you could recommend that can double as some kind of boost and a pretty formidable fuzz? Any answer would certainly be appreciated.
