Conclusion:

3xfx Fatman Angle
I love this pedal, and it’s part of my permanent collection. I love having pure chaos under my foot ready to unleash at any second. I don’t have to even use the pedal, just having it there brings me comfort. That said, the distortion side of this pedal is very very solid and useful.
It’s a bit of a one tone pony, but it’s a good one. Some have complained that the noise level is too loud, but I don’t tend to leave the thing on when I’m not playing. This isn’t a pedal for country or jazz, this is for angry music… sometimes angry music is loud.

The fuzz side can just roar and will raise the eyebrows of anyone around the first time they hear it. Creative types will have a wail of a time discovering the possibilities offered here. The most obvious use is the crazy roaring feedback ending that rock stars love… this gives will bring your bass up into the cacophony unlike anything else. Regular guitar centered bands will be kicking out a lot of bass players if this pedal should ever get popular. Hard edged explorers will find a lot to love here, but enter wisely.

As always, if you have any questions, leave a comment or let me know

Note: A rating of 5 = acceptable and should considered a ‘good’ basic score

  2. That’s exactly how I felt after seeing this review - so I did. Practicing with this pedal gets an almost instant “can you turn it DOWN” from my wife, which even quite high volumes of ‘normal’ playing doesn’t.

I love the “yes… your eardrums!” comment.
