Can’t wait for the expression pedal demo. Ever consider expression-controlled blend? I know it sounds pedestrian, but would be practical… I know, too late for this go round. Guess I’ll have to make my OWN.
Actually considered several variations after I got the prototype, but decided that leaving it the filter sweep is actually the most interesting musically.
The “Hook” side sounds a lot better on this demo. I’d really like to know if the “filter” really is a mid-cut or not. I’d also like to hear the “timbre” control in action.
To my ear the filter is removing from a specific frequency (and exactly what that frequency is I don’t know) the knob feels like a percentage applied. Like when it’s dimed, the filter is cutting everything at that level, and as you roll it off it allows more and more through.
Also note, that the expression pedal changes the frequency of that filter. As for the timbre control, it’s likely the most subtle on the lot and while you can heard it when it’s loud (and zinging around the room) I’m having a hard time capturing a credible demo. I may need to mic the cab ;)
Notes on the timbre control from Mario:
“dead center” only provides the best fundamental cancellation, which makes the octave more prevalent (since it isn’t competing as much) The octave up amount will be basically the same regardless, they just will drop “into the mix” more with the pot on either side of center……..this will have the added effect of passing more low end through the ‘FUZZ’ portion of the circuit…………..(clean will remain unchanged, of course…….)”
fantastic, is there any possibility of more subtle tones from the tentacle?
Well, it’s not really designed for subtle. That said, with the clean blend fully up and fuzz mostly down it’s not as in-your-face.
I dig it, sounds like a great fuzz, nice n’ crazy.
