Initial thoughts:
I’ve kind of wanted one of these for about as long as I can remember, well… that’s not 100% true. I wanted a rattle crow, but since they weren’t making them any more I transplanted my GAS onto these. It’s a fuzz, it’s a filter! Who the hell knew, and samples weren’t exactly easy to come by. A fellow effects junkie on the bass forum had one for sale (at a very nice used price) and I broke down and grabbed it. I remember be so excited when I plugged it in and absolutely shocked by what I was hearing after playing with it for about five minutes. This was NOT the pedal I was expecting! This is the pedal being reviewed today though!
I’d like to note that picking out three settings to samples for was about the hardest choice I’ve had to make while doing reviews. While I think the samples are descriptive of the sounds you CAN get, it is by no means an exhaustive list. The samples together with the video help clear it up some, but there still seems to be a tad bit missing. Just know if you get yourself into one of these guys you will find yourself exploring for quite some time.
