Fuzz Review: D*A*M Standard Meathead

Conclusion:

Just to be clear, this pedal is not designed for bass use and it robs lows in almost any setting.

the damn thing screams… a there is a ton of gain and volume on tap that can push a tube into oblivion.

The single knob means that balance grit to unity volume is going to be just about impossible to manage, unless you just happen to get lucky on where those points cross.

With my active bass it seemed impossible to find a setting that maintained punch. With my passive bass the pedal cleans up as I roll off the volume, and some of the girth and punch returns. I’m sure you can run this though a clean-blender and achieve some kind of peace, but it’s not a pedal that your average bass-player is going to fall in love with.
