Conclusion:
As with most highly flexible envelope filters there are a lot of controls and it requires some time (or some knowledge of filters) to dial in the type of sounds you need/want. I had more trouble dialing in sounds with my low output instruments, but it really came alive with a little more juice going in.
The sample and hold mode can be used in some really interesting and creative ways but is also feels like a ‘not quite’ for me. It’s one of those things where I’d love to see multiple expression inputs to control things like rate and step speeds on the fly. I’ve always been a dreamer!
Since I’m dreaming… This is one of those pedals that would be awesome to have a digital front-end on to be able to switch between all the potentially useful settings on the fly. As it stands you either need to start buying multiple copies of the pedal or become an extremely efficient knob twiddler.
As always, if you have any questions, leave a comment or let me know
Note: A rating of 5 = acceptable and should considered a ‘good’ basic score

Having owned one of these for a while i’d call this an incredibly accurate review, it sounds great and does a great job for the price and it’s very active friendly, it’s only downer is you need to be quite the knob twiddler to regain a setting, but brian from subdecay put a hell of effort into cramming it with good features and ultimately i think it paid off
