Goings on…

Stashed under: Ramblings of a madman — grygrx @ 9:29 am

This is what’s going on….

  • Got a Guyatone TZ-2 in the mail yesterday.
  • Working on the dual force Malekko B:assmaster (Germ & Silicon) review. W/builder interview
  • Spankypant’s has joined me crewing the station here.  He will be doing 2nd looks, and alternative viewpoints on some of the pedals (eventually, we will shoot for all of them).  He will be starting with a quad of devi ever pedals (two that I’ve reviewed already, and two that I haven’t).

Enter: SpankyPants!

Stashed under: Ramblings of a madman — SpankyPants @ 2:40 pm

In the beginning, there was nothing. Then God opened the heavens and spoke, “Let there be bass.” And God said, “Let us decimate this bass by running it through heaping, catastrophic fuzz!”

On the fifth day, God created grygrx from dust, and He said “You shall rule over this bass, over this fuzz, and over all of bassfuzz.com.” From grygrx’s side, God pulled a rib and created SpankyPants..

He said to them, “Go forth and be fruitful; fill bassfuzz.com with reviews of each fuzz. Rule over the silicon, germanium, and opamps. Oscillate, starve, and compress. They will be yours for the rocking-out.”

Thus bassfuzz.com and the commencement of pedal reviews were completed in all their vast array.

Bug, error, issue… whatever… I fixed it.

Stashed under: Ramblings of a madman — grygrx @ 10:01 am

I just noticed on my review list it was only showing the first five posts alphabetically. I didn’t realize that the global ’show # of posts’ limit was enforced on custom queries… anyway, it’s fixed now. You will see all of the reviews, interviews, and golden age clips as expected.

Margarita dreams

Stashed under: Ramblings of a madman — grygrx @ 7:07 am

I sat down last night with a margarita and a dream. A dream that I would get two more reviews closed up and out there for your viewing pleasure. It was a dream turned into a nightmare. Gry, you ask, why the hyperbole? Folk, I reply, it is because the pedals in question have proven to be both interesting and nearly impossible to pin down.

  • TGD - The Great Destroyer from Dwarfcraft Devices
  • The 3xfx Fatman

Neither of these pedals are fitting into the nice little testing dojo I have created. As I quaff’d my lime and liquor bevvys I pondered the issue until I was no longer capable of finding an answer. I noticed I had recorded about 45 minutes of my personal jazz odyssey with TGD and decided the footage needed to be culled in order to prevent world calamity. Both these pedals are moved to the official ‘on hold’ queue until I can come up with a better way to manage them, and I’ll move on to some easier fare for a bit to keep things moving.
