Birdsong HY5 #3
I pre-ordered this bass in September 2006 as one of the prototypes that Birdsong was creating for a short-scale 5 string instrument. After much waffling and discussion I finally decided on letting Scott from Birdsong work his magic on a piece of Texas pecan. With it’s 31″ scale 24 fret neck and 15mm string spacing, this is not a bass for everyone. The light weight and extreme playability combined with rich sound make it an amazing instrument. The HY5 is currently a production model from Birdsong Guitars located in Wimberley, Texas.
