I’ve had an odd obsession with Schumann electronics pedals since I was first introduced to them in late 2005. At this point they were no longer available.
Rumors of mishandled transactions and pedals sent in for repair never being returned swirled around various music forums. Despite my interest I had pretty much resigned myself to never laying hands on these pedals. I eventually was able to pick up a PLL, and then a few of the other pedals. These pages serve as documentation, photos, and other tidbits of information that I’ve collected.
Despite the lack of production, the Schumann Electronics website has continued to function, seems to indicate availability of pedals, and has contact information. Though e-mails I’ve sent to date have gone unanswered, others have spoken with him and said he has plans to ‘return to building’, but this has been the rumor for some time now.
In November of 2009 the Schumann Electronics Website started posting notes about an impending return to pedal building. I have created an archive for these notes, but as of Aug 19th 2010, production has not resumed.
Pedals I’ve owned:
- PLL
- Two Face Fuzz
- Lion
- Lion X – Still looking
Note: These Schumann pedals take a 12VAC power adapter w/a 2.5mm barrel (standard boss is 2.1mm). Don’t try for force another power supply of the wrong size in there! The exact model of JameCo power supplies that these were issued with are not longer offered, but I found the replacement JameCo product number: 100167
